DIY Iron-on Graphics

Hi there, welcome to the wonderful weird world of PHOTOSHOPLIFTING. Subtle graphic interventions that shift between commentary, critique, and complicity.

Designs

Mainstream isn’t really our thing. Our designs are sometimes odd, often nonsense, usually ironic, cheeky-clever, or socially critical – even subversive. Or just funny. (At least, we think so.) Because: “Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it.” (Oscar Wilde)

Parasitic

Yes, you could say our iron-ons cling to fabrics like ideological ticks, feeding off them – even rewriting their stories. Mass-market fashion becomes the clueless host. Your old t-shirt? A new host body! No brand is sacred (unless the fabric says “no heat”), and we don’t ask for permission. You might even say: Photoshoplifting isn’t decoration – it’s infiltration.

Sustainable

Nope, our iron-ons aren’t biodegradable, and no, they’re not made from ground apple seeds. But we do believe there’s something deeply sustainable about giving old clothes a second life – and loving them again instead of tossing them out and buying new ones. So yeah, with a clear conscience we say: Pimp your old clothes – it’s environmentally friendly!

Collaborations

What’s better than working with people you respect and who share your values? Sure – holidays, sex, drugs & rock’n’roll, maybe not working at all. Could be. But that’s not the point (and the question was rhetorical anyway). Point is: we’re into collabs – with emerging, established, and positive-minded creatives. If that’s you, drop us a line.

How it works

Our iron-ons are suitable for almost all iron-friendly materials, especially cotton, cotton blends, denim, leather, linen, etc. Before applying to polyester or technical fabrics, always perform a print and wash test to check for cold or dye sublimation issues. *** 1. Place the Photoshoplifting transfer on your garment. *** 2. Cover it with baking paper or a thin cloth. *** 3. Press it with a heat press at 140°C for 15 seconds. Or: Use a regular household iron and press down firmly for 15 seconds. *** 4. Let it cool down completely. *** 5. Carefully peel off the protective film. *** 6. Post-pressing: A second press for 5 seconds is recommended. Again – baking paper! ***

Your old t-shirt? A new host body!

PHOTOSHOPLIFTING questions conventional logics of production and authorship in textile design by re-coding existing garments through parasitic strategies.
